A holistic way to improving your health.
My name is Jordi Jiménez and I am a Graduate in Naturopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I am a member of the British Register of Complementary Practitioners in the United Kingdom MBRCP and APTN Cofenat in Spain, the main Association of natural therapists in the country.
I offer my experience and knowledge as a therapist to those looking for a natural and holistic way of keeping or regain their health.
My ethos is based on Naturopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine; two disciplines that although coming from opposite poles of the planet, share their basic principles, and combined they offer solutions to several health problems.
I am pleased to give a brief answer to frequent questions about naturopathy.
To know more about the different disciplines that I practice, please use the menu on the right to find more detailed information. For further details or to clarify any doubts, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will be very happy to address your enquiry.
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is the science that tries to stimulate the capacities of self-healing and innate recovery of each person (Vis Medicatrix Naturae).
Naturopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine conceive disease as a set of imbalances and for that reason it is a holistic discipline that doesn’t focus on just alleviating the symptoms but to recover the necessary balance for a good physical, mental and emotional health.
It analyses the condition of the person and the source of the illness, advising changes in your life in order for you to regain your health.
It is very important to be aware of your responsibility regarding your health and take control of your healing. To do this, I will help you with my knowledge and my experience.
In cases in which there is a pathology, naturopathy is applied when there is a previous medical diagnosis, complementing the treatment that your doctor has prescribed. Working with conventional medicine, you can get what you really need: Improve or recover your health.
Naturopathy bases its knowledge on the immense heritage of wisdom inherent in the nature of the earth. It uses natural methods that have been applied effectively for centuries in all cultures and societies. All of these ancient therapies have been reinforced with the best research and contemporary technologies, which have demonstrated their therapeutic value.
The term Naturopathy was coined by Benedict Lust at the end of the 19th century and it is intended to encompass all natural methods that allow to help regain or maintain health.
It means: The natural way.
With these natural methods we prepare the
ground for healthy people to prevent
disease and those who suffer a condition
to recover their health and enjoy a full
and active life.
What should I expect from a visit?
Your first visit may take more than one hour. I will take a very thorough case history,
collecting information about your diet, lifestyle, stress, and
environmental exposures. If you already have a health problem;
I may also require your doctor’s diagnosis and laboratory tests,
x-rays, etc… If you already have them, please bring them along
In this first visit we will revise your diet and some aspects of
your lifestyle. We will find out which therapies can help you and start working on your therapeutic plan.
You are going to be the main participant in your health care, so you may be asked to make lifestyle changes, such as changing your sleeping, eating, and exercise habits. Together we will find the strategies that will make you able to achieve all these goals.
It may take several visits to achieve an improvement or healing of your problem. That is why it is very important to establish a regular plan of visits that fulfil your needs. These visits will take between half an hour to one hour depending of the treatments that you need to receive.
Is there anything I should look out for?
Be sure to let your doctor (G.P.) know about your naturopathic treatment, and let me know about any conventional medications or treatments you are taking. Some treatments can interact with each other. We need to know every therapy you are using.

Which ethos and professional principles do you base your practice on?
I base my ethos on the principles which are the foundation of the naturopathic approach. these are as follows:
Firstly do no harm, and no damage (Primum non nocere).
Holistic view of human beings: I have in mind the circumstances of physical, mental, emotional, genetic, social, spiritual, etc. In order to treat the person as a unit.
"Vis Medicatrix Naturae". The self-healing force of the organism : Naturopathy recognises an inherent self-healing process in people that is ordered and intelligent. We will identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery, and we will facilitate and augment of this inherent self-healing process.
I only use therapeutic resources that are in tune with nature.
Together we will seek the causes of the disease (Tollecausem): And we won't just simply treat the symptoms.
I will prepare you an individualised therapeutic plan taking into account your particular characteristics.
Prevention is better than cure: By using naturopathy we will approach a more natural lifestyle which will prevent future illnesses.
"Docere": As therapist I also put a lot of emphasis on keeping you informed about your treatments and your health with the aim of promoting habits and a natural lifestyle. So you can be aware of the process that is taking place on your health.
